ITS - Intelligent Transportation System
Each Queue trailer can provide data remotely for up to 22 lanes of traffic or 250'. Equipped with a microwave radar unit to detect speed, volume, occupancy and classification of vehicle. The Queue trailer reports data to a wide variety of information gathering devices. Implemented with a 230 watt solar panel and 4 - 6 volt batteries to provide a 30-day battery bank.
Mobile Video Trailer
The self-contained all-weather camera trailer with wireless communication provides real-time video viewable from a remote location, e.g., smartphone, laptop or PC. Mast extends to 32' with 360° rotation. Implemented with four 140 watt solar panels and 12 - 6 volt batteries provide a 30-day battery bank.
Variable Speed Limit Trailer
Capable of programming remotely, speed can be adjusted based or weather and traffic conditions. Available as a permanent or portable unit. Equipped with LED lights makes unit highly visible. Solar panel provides continuous, uninterrupted use and large battery bank provide 30 days of use without sunlight. Measuring only 68" wide this unit provides a small footprint and may be positioned in small or restricted areas
Information Processing System
Computerized Highway Information Processing System “CHIPS” is a patented software/web-based system that is the core of an ITS solution. The web-based system provides a central location to monitor, track and control all ITS field devices in a secure and easy-to-use application.
By providing secure log-in access, the web-based system allows all approved users to have administration rights to not only view all real time traffic conditions, but also respond to incidents as quickly as they occur. This can include monitoring of all lanes to capture speed, volume, density and vehicle classification.
That data capture can then be disseminated via the website as well as a direct XML feed to stakeholders. The data can then provide historical scenarios, trends and forecasting for future project design. The real time data collection is then utilized to provide an automated message to the message board fleet that will then empower the traveling public to make informed decisions.
This can include alternate routing, trip planning or simply providing a safer experience when entering a live work zone. Some of the examples of these systems include, but are not limited to:
Smart Work Zone
> Trailer-Mounted Queue Detection
> Message Board Trailers
> Mobile Video Trailer
Message Board Trailers
When the message board is combined with the Queue it is capable of rerouting traffic to decrease travel time and reduce collisions and accidents. Message boards also provide advanced warning and travel alerts. This provides a safer experience for motorists and workers by offering real-time messages. Implemented with a 140 watt solar panel and 6 - 6 volt batteries to provide a 30-day battery bank.
